A fusion of luscious ripe apricots, drizzled with honey and spiced aromas of cinnamon and cloves, entwined with wisps of fragrant and aromatic spice.

Dewar's blended scotch whiskies are made using up to 40 different malt and grain whiskies from across Scotland. John Dewar opened his shop at 111 Perth High Street in 1846 with a clear vision to create a house style that was a fruity and smooth as possible. Dewar's have always been innovative, using cutting edge maturation techniques to ensure their whiskies stand out from the crowd.

The cornerstone of Dewar's blending process is Double Ageing. After the individual ingredients have been aged for 12/18/25 years they are blended together to create the desired flavour profile. Most companies bottle at this point, but we return the blend to an old cask for up to 6 months, to give the flavours time to integrate and also develop a smoother mouthfeel in the final whisky.

Today, this concept has been taken further in the Dewar's Double Double range, the pursuit of ultimate smoothness, which have won multiple awards since launch. Curious experimentation has been taken further with the Dewar's 8 year old Cask Series. This is a collection of the same 8 year old blend finished in unusual barrels like Rum, Mezcal or Mizunara oak.

A Blended Scotch with a curious combination of cask finishes.

Dewar's whiskies always go through a double ageing process to add more smoothness. After this second maturation, the 'Double Agent' edition is separated in two batches. The first is finished in Sweet Sherry casks, the other in Smoky Islay casks. The liquids are then brought together with amazing results: a delicious sweet whisky with secret smoky notes. Or is it a smoky whisky with hidden sweet notes?

This whisky is usually only available at airports, but we have a small amount available for our distillery customers.

Volume: 100cl, Abv: 40%

Absolutely superb, hard to believe it's a blend

I used to drink blended whisky before I discovered single malts. I've continued that way for 15+ years and any other blends I've tried have only reaffirmed my bias. I was offered a snifter of this when visiting the distillery bar and my mind has been changed! This is a superb drink and well worth trying

Recommend by the specialist there and now I know why!

What an incredible dram! One for the masses and I’m just thankful they come in a 1L bottle! I asked Craig (one of the ambassadors there), if you had £80 of your own money, which bottle would you buy? And this was it.

A dangerous dram!

bought this after I read that it was a mix of peaty and Sherry casks and boy, was it a good move. As it’s only 40% it’s an easy going dram to start with however the blend of the flavours make is a smooth and dangerous dram. Dangerous because you find yourself having another! Little to no water needed in this one. Lovely. It’s not quite a 5 but it’s also not a 4! It’s a 4.5!
