Tasting note from our Visitor Operations Manager Jonathan: This is like a brandysnap filled with jammy dark berries, scented with mint and violets.

Aberfeldy is the only distillery built by the Dewar family. Initially intended as an ingredient for their Blended Scotch, our team of 12 operators craft a Single Malt with fruity and honeyed aromas.

Aberfeldy is known as The Golden Dram due to the alluvial gold that is rumoured to lie in our water source, the Pitilie Burn. We use 7.5 tons of lightly malted barley per batch and allow a gentle fermentation over 70 hours to give plenty of time for sweet, fruity flavour development. Our tall stills are heated slowly for plenty of copper contact to retain these bright flavours.

Aberfeldy is usually matured in a range of cask types giving complexity. This whisky also has approachable orange and honey flavours when young and over time subtle floral and spiced aromas can emerge. Look out for interesting finishes such as Madeira or red wine that complement our house style perfectly.

Given our Highlands location, we ship within the UK on a 2 day service delivering on weekdays only.Alternatively there is a free collection option from the distillery, we'd love to meet you!

Every year we release an expression of Aberfeldy finished in a different red wine cask. Each cask adds different fruit and oak flavours to our delicate spirit.

In 2022 Stephanie Macleod selected Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon red wine casks to finish this 15 Year Old Aberfeldy Single Malt. The long warm growing season gives ripe grapes packed full of deep dark fruit, violet and fragrant spice flavours that complement a younger aged Aberfeldy.

Once this stock is gone, it won't be bottled again so don't miss out!

Amazing Aberfeldy

Another cracker of a single malt from Aberfeldy and they just go from strength to strength. Would love to see them do a rum cask single malt and the light easy fresh taste of Aberfeldy would match perfectly with the sweet sticky rum taste.
