Aberfeldy 40 year old single malt whisky Cask #Cask 5029 Limited edition, original stock approx. 160 bottles

We are delighted to announce the release of our oldest expression yet, Aberfeldy 40 Year Old.

 Costing £2,500 this release is exclusively available from us here at Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery, both onsite and online.

This especially old single malt has rested in three separate oak casks since 1978 and is released in three single cask editions, giving collectors a chance to own each one.
 

AN EXPERIENCE

Approximately 400 bottles are available in total across the three casks, and you will be given the opportunity to fill your own bottle by hand in our atmospheric warehouse. This ultra-premium, hands-on experience makes for a wonderful gifting opportunity or a whisky collector's dream day.

This first expression of Aberfeldy 40 Year Old is from Cask #5029 - which allowed us approximately 160 Bottles, a quantity that diminishes rapidly as more discover this release.

Very few casks of this age make for a truly great whisky, however each of the three American Oak, ex-bourbon Hogsheads casks that we are releasing enjoy remarkable qualities having a unique story and flavour profile tied to their history.

We know that you'll want to taste this historic whisky, but you may not wish to open your bottle immediately. We are happy to arrange for you to enjoy a tasting of our most treasured Aberfeldy 40 here at the distillery when you come to fill it. This tasting will be a complimentary part of your ownership experience.

THE ULTIMATE WHISKY

Cask #5029 was bottled at 50.1% ABV. It’s nose of honeysuckle and freshly cut grass ushers in the signature Aberfeldy notes of rich heather honey.

On the palate, there is a rich and bold burst of cloves, which is followed by cereal notes providing a relaxing feel.   The finish lingers on and on. Mellow and smooth, moving from sweetness to spice, this is an incredible whisky.
